9 Contest: Create and upload your own character inspired by the film 9 and you could win a two-week internship with Starz Animation or 1-9 Dell Computers!

All the submissions have been reviewed, and it was a difficult choice to choose a winner, with all the great 9 character entries that were submitted for this epic contest!  After many hours of deliberation, the winning entry (as judged by Starz Animation Studios), has been selected.  The Grand Prize winner of the Dose.ca 9 Character Contest goes to Trevor Silvani of Guelph, ON, for his character creation of “Ten.” Trevor Silvani will be awarded a two-week internship with Starz Animation Studios in Toronto, ON, plus transportation and accommodations during his stay! Thanks again Trevor, your character submission was awesome!  Thank you to everyone that entered; there were some amazing submissions, and it was great to see some talented work from our fellow Canadians!  Also, check back shortly as we will also be announcing our Secondary Prize Winners shortly!

About this Character: Ten’s main function is the group’s ‘healer’. Whether it’s a viscous attack from a machine or a trivial rip caused by the wear and tear of daily life in a post-apocalyptic world, 10 is there to help, and heal. Armed with various stitching supplies, 10 can perform the much needed needlework for his fellow comrades. While ‘the Scientist’ had intended 10 to be primarily a healer, he’s had to learn to use his repair gear as weaponry, thanks to the aggressive ‘machine world’ he finds himself in. Ten’s unique cap visually sets him apart from the others and makes him easy to spot when one finds their self in need of some patchwork. Although he is assembled to be a physical healer, 10’s humble and wise nature often leads him to heal the others spiritually as well, thereby leading them to fulfill their role in the clan. To put it simply, Ten is Zen.

Congratulations also goes out to the following people as they are Secondary Prize Winners in the Dose.ca 9 Contest: Karie Krezel of Calgary, AB; Colin Currie of Scarborough, ON; and Bruce Benneke of Kamsack, SK; are all winners of the DELL Studio 17 laptops.  The Winners for the DELL Mini 10V laptops are Moez Baloo of Hamilton, ON; Amy Melanson of Saskatoon, SK; and Josee Robichaud of St. John’s, NB. And last but not least the winners of the DELL Studio XPS 16 laptops are Simon Anderson of Vancouver, BC; Alfred Castillo of Markham, ON; and Michael Elefano of North York, ON.  Once again, thanks again to everyone that entered submissions, and entered the Dose.ca 9 Contest.  It was definitely one of the coolest contests we’ve ever done!
