The Academy Awards are the one time a year when Hollywood’s elite almost convince you they’re as superior as they think they are. Despite past sexual, chemical or occupational transgressions they clean up nice, put on their best pretentious scowl and pretend the Oscars don’t mean anything, while secretly working on their acceptance speech.
