Nowhere is the buddy system taken more seriously than in Hollywood. There's a long, cherished tradition of pairing by-the-book stiffs with hotheaded, mayhem-courting bad boys and watching them develop deep (but totally manly) friendships. Female love interests fade into the film's background, but the chemistry between the two male leads remains as strong and steadfast as their newfound bond.
