Top 5 Coen Brothers Films

When Joel and Ethan Coen’s No Country for Old Men is released on Friday (Nov. 9), this list of their Top 5 films will need to be updated. Their adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel is filled with the brothers’ usual dark humor, sharp dialogue, crime and brutal violence but is also tempered with their deft handling of a harrowing and bleak thematic backbone that makes it one of the year’s best — and maybe their best film yet. On this note, we take a look at some of the Coens’ other masterpieces.
