Best Picture Snub: Revolutionary Road
Considering that American Beauty director Sam Mendes’ intense relationship drama featuring the onscreen reunion of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio went pretty much as you would imagine (i.e. – a tight, heart wrenching film featuring tour de force performances from two of the greatest actors in the game), it’s surprising that the film didn’t pick up a nomination. Sure, the competition was pretty fierce, but with its big performances and accomplished direction, Revolutionary Road seemed like a lock.
