School: American Ballet Academy
Star Pupils: Jody (Amanda Schull) tries to prove she's got what it takes to join a legendary ballet company. Adding to the mounting pressure is her demanding instructor (Peter Gallagher), her bulimic roommate (Susan May Pratt), and her growing attraction to both the school's star dancer (Ethan Stiefel) and her sensitive best friend (Sascha Radetsky).
Best Routine/Song: Hands-down, the best moment in the entire film is the final dance recital. It makes absolutely no sense (motorcycles on stage? Impossibly instantaneous costume changes?), and the dancing would never impress a traditional company (especially since most of the "dancing" is actually "rolling around seductively on a bed"). Still, we've never been able to hear Jamiroquai's "Canned Heat" since without smiling.
